The Benedictines have been praying and working in this so-called 'Vierkanter of God' in Seitenstetten for almost 900 years.( Vierkanter: historical method of constructing a monastery in this special area). Some of the responsibilites of the monks  are the spiritual welfare of the people in surrounding incorporated parishes, the teaching and educating of students in the grammar school of the monastery, and youth welfare work as well as adult education. Moreover culture, art and economy are parts of their concern.
